UK certificate attestation helps a UK-issued document meet the checks for official use in the UAE. UAE residents may need it for work or residence. It may also be needed for study, legal matters or company use.
The route depends on the document. It also depends on how it was issued. We check this before work starts.

Most UK documents need up to three steps for UAE use. Step one does not apply to every case. It is only needed when a UK solicitor or notary must certify the document.
1. UK Solicitor or Notary Certification — If Required
A UK solicitor or notary may need to certify some certificates. The same may apply to copies or private papers. Original UK birth, marriage and death records can often go straight to the FCDO when they come from a public register.
2. FCDO Apostille Stamp
The document then goes straight to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Its Legalisation Office checks the signature, stamp or seal. It then adds an apostille.
3. UAE Embassy London Attestation
After the FCDO Apostille Stamp, the document moves to the UAE Embassy London stage. The digital service also covers the UAE foreign-affairs step. Once this is complete, the document is ready for UAE use. No extra legalisation is needed in the UAE for this route.
Personal and civil: birth, marriage, death, civil partnership, divorce, police and medical certificates.
Academic and professional: diplomas, professional certificates, membership certificates and other awards.
Business and legal: powers of attorney, company papers, board resolutions and agreements. We also handle the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association.

Original civil records: Send birth, marriage and death certificates in original form.
Powers of attorney: Sign them in front of a UK solicitor or notary before the FCDO step.
Separate apostilles: The London service does not accept one apostille for several documents.
No laminated documents: The UAE Embassy in London does not accept them.
Company documents: Submit the Memorandum and Articles of Association for separate attestation.
Other issuing places: Ireland may use a different route. The same can apply to Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories.
