Terms & conditions

The terms that govern quotes, payments, turnaround times, document handling, refunds and liability for every attestation, apostille, translation and PRO service delivered by Benchmark Attestation Services in the UAE.

Last updated 3 July 2026

These terms and conditions ("Terms") form the agreement between you and Benchmark Attestation Services ("Benchmark", "we") for every service we deliver in the United Arab Emirates. By accepting a written quote from us, paying an invoice, or submitting documents for processing, you accept these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Our services

Benchmark provides certificate attestation, apostille, MOFA attestation, UAE embassy attestation, translation, PRO and business-setup services in the United Arab Emirates. The exact scope of any engagement is defined by the written quote you accept — either by email, WhatsApp, or by paying the invoice we issue.

We act as your authorised representative for submissions to notaries, ministries, embassies and courts. We do not issue attestation stamps ourselves — those are issued by the relevant government authority.

2. Quotes, fees and payment

Quotes are valid for seven (7) days from the date of issue and are inclusive of 5% UAE VAT unless stated otherwise. Government fees are itemised separately and are paid straight to the authority — they can change without notice if the authority revises its schedule.

Payment is due in full before work begins. We accept bank transfer, card and cash. An invoice is issued once payment is received.

3. Turnaround times

Turnaround times quoted are working-day estimates based on standard processing at the relevant authority. They exclude weekends, UAE and foreign public holidays, and time lost while a document is held, queried or rejected by the authority for reasons outside our control.

We update you at each stage. If a step takes longer than quoted, we will tell you why in writing and give a revised estimate.

4. Handling of your documents

Original documents received by Benchmark are logged, held in secure custody in Dubai, and released only through tracked delivery to you or a person you nominate in writing. Where a foreign step is needed, we use insured international courier and share tracking with you.

You warrant that the documents you send are genuine, correctly issued and lawfully in your possession. Benchmark is not liable for delays or refusals caused by forged, altered, expired or incorrectly issued documents.

5. Cancellations and refunds

You may cancel a service before it is submitted to the authority for a full refund of the Benchmark fee less any expenses already incurred (translation, courier, notary). Once a document is submitted to a government authority, government fees are non-refundable — the authority does not refund them to us.

If we fail to deliver the service you paid for through a fault on our side, we refund the Benchmark fee in full.

6. Limitation of liability

Benchmark's total liability for any claim arising out of a service is limited to the fees you paid Benchmark for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses — including missed visas, missed job start dates, missed university enrolments, or lost income.

This limit does not exclude liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or anything else that cannot be limited under UAE law.

7. What we will not do

We will not attest, translate or submit any document we reasonably believe to be forged, altered, or fraudulent. We will not process any document intended for an unlawful purpose. We will not accept documents that are contrary to UAE public policy.

In those cases we return the documents and refund unused fees. We may report matters to the relevant authority where the law requires it.

8. Confidentiality and data

Everything you share with us is confidential and used only to deliver the service you asked for. Our full data-handling practices are described in our

Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and, where applicable, the laws of the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.

Before starting any formal proceedings, both parties agree to make a good-faith attempt to resolve the dispute directly for at least 30 days.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you accept a quote governs that engagement. The 'Last updated' date on this page shows the current version.
