A local Notary Public certifies the document first, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates authenticates it at national level, the UAE Embassy in Amman legalises it, and MOFA Dubai applies the final UAE stamp. Since Jordan is not a Hague Convention signatory, this full four-stage chain is required for UAE use.
UAE employment visas, DHA/DoH/KHDA licensing, family visa sponsorship and Golden Visa applications all require attested Jordanian documents, following the complete legalisation route.
Jordan degrees need this chain for KHDA/DHA/MOH licensing and UAE university admission. Vital records — birth, marriage and death certificates — need it for family visa sponsorship. Police clearance certificates from Jordan are required for UAE Golden Visa and long-stay applications. Corporate documents — incorporation certificates, board resolutions and POAs — need the same chain for UAE business use.
You will typically need the original signed and sealed Jordanian document, a colour scan of your passport bio page and UAE visa or entry stamp, a signed authorisation letter if a family member or agent holds the original in Jordan, and a purpose letter where required.
Documents submitted directly to the embassy without proper local notarisation and Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates authentication are rejected. Only originals with wet signatures and seals are accepted; scanned PDFs cannot be attested. Any name mismatch between certificate, passport and Emirates ID blocks downstream applications. And photocopies or laminated originals must be re-issued before attestation can proceed.
